ABSTRACT
Business development and growth in contemporary societies have been hinged on several factors including the use of e-business and other technological improvements on business development. This study provided an insight into the issues of e-business adoption among entrepreneurs particularly small scale entrepreneurs at the Utako Ultra-modern Market Abuja. The methodology adopted for this study was the survey method (through the instrument of questionnaire) as well as In-depth Interview. Data was collected from a sample of 220 respondents. The study adopted the descriptive statistics of simple percentage to analyze quantitative data, and direct quotations for qualitative data. The study found that e-business has been accepted by a lot of entrepreneurs and have been utilized for communication and getting feedback, as well as payment on purchase through the POS system. The study also found that challenges of funding advert placements and consistent data usage affected some of the entrepreneurs who did not adopt the e-business systems. The study recommended that further education and sensitization of business owners on the advantages of e-business would go a long way in helping to improve the adoption and utilization of e-business.
